Emerson Flute Serial Numbers

What is the number? I may be abole to make a guess since I worked for them. If the barrel has a logo with ELD in an oval, it is pre 1997 and the later ones have an E with a line through it. If the name is on the body and not on the barrel, it is probably pre-1987. Bruce, Deford has bought and sold flute companies so many times that I 've lost track. I think he was on Hivley Ave.when I lived in Elkhart. It would be nice if there were an updated langwell index for 'modern' instrument makers.

Be nice to know all of his and other makers logos and basic serial number info as well, I know some of it is scattered out there.

I'm trying to. Thanks so much for answering! Yamaha flute: open hole, B foot Headjoint: an X that looks like an atom, followed underneath by Silverhead and underneath that, 925 Collar: a triangle, YAMAHA, underneath established in 1887, underneath MADE IN JAPAN, underneath 3850 or 38SII (I'm sorry! I'm trying to see) Middle piece: at the end, this number 310758 followed by A Emerson: open hole Collar: ELD in an oval, followed underneath in succession by Emerson, USA Right underneath the collar: D76753, with a 3 underneath (no B foot) I like the clear sound of the Emerson, but what do I know? Thanks again! Best Answer: Please tell us here, everything that is engraved on each of the flutes.

Start with the collar on the body - then check in hidden places for other markings, like the serial number, and any stamps that indicate solid silver: SS, 900, 925, etc. Tell us if those silver markings are JUST in the head, or on all three pieces. Then we can better tell you just what you own. Here is a link to the Emerson flute page - I cannot pinpoint you model: The Yamaha is inherently the better flute - it has a silver head, and was made when these were GOOD. Sell the Emerson (or keep it for marching, etc.) and get the Yamaha fixed up by a good tech. Phone unlock code generator. For the best answers, search on this site If it is a closed-hole C foot flute, and you used this as a student, then it is more than likely silver-plated, not solid silver.

Not matter what you paid for it, it is now worth about $40 - $50. I have purchased a few of these for kids with limited funds, and never ever pay over about $60 - if they are in great condition and need NO work. Added - chances are, this has a plated head - you can tell by looking at the tenon - then end that goes into the flute. If it looks yellow/brass - then it is plated. If you cannot tell my looking - well, all-silver parts must be stamped SS, 925, or Sterling - something like that - that indicates metal content. Last test - hold the headjoint lightly by the very top cap, letting it dangle. Gently *twang* or tap the tenon end.

If you get a nice ring - it is plated. If it goes THUNK - it is solid silver.

Added2 - Apparently, I have attracted another Hater Troll, who is following me to every question I answer, and giving me a TD. (I thought I smelled something, but checked the bottom of my shoes..) Not the first time - won't be the last - I guess their widdle feewings got hurt when I answered one of their loony questions with the truth. • Tell us some more • Upload in Progress • Upload failed.
